Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas - Cary, NC
This project involved the renovation of approximately 1,000+ square feet within an existing radiation treatment vault and control area. The upgrade included the replacement of the existing Varian 2100 C/D linear accelerator with a new Varian Halcyon system. Due to the unique original installation of the linac, the renovation required a non-standard approach. Significant saw cutting of the existing concrete floor was necessary to accommodate the updated equipment. The scope of work also included: new electrical, upgraded mechanical system and modern interior finishes, including the installation of a seamless epoxy floor in the treatment room These enhancements not only supported the new Halcyon system but also gave the facility a contemporary, clean aesthetic. One of the project’s key challenges was executing all renovation activities during normal business hours, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruption to ongoing operations. The result is a fully modernized treatment space that supports advanced radiation therapy while providing a refreshed and professional environment for both patients and staff.
